Going to the fair is a tradition for many people in the Youngstown area. The Canfield Fair is one of the top entertainment venues and draws hundreds of thousands of people each year. It is the second largest fair in Ohio, and is the largest county fair in the state. It is a big deal, y’all.
The food at the Canfield Fair is beyond imagination. Eating at the fair is an event in itself, and deserves anticipation and planning.
Everyone has their favorite fair food, but it is fun to try new things too. Charlotte’s Aunt Julie said the Stuffed Hungarian Pepper Sandwiches were the best food at the fair, so we had to try one. They were excellent!
It was a perfect day for the fair. 70 degrees, breezy, with occasional drizzle turning to sunshine. It was possibly the best fair day ever!
Charlotte loves cows and was thrilled to get up close and personal with this sweet milk cow. The fair is heaven on earth for kiddos who love animals. Charlie girl got to watch a horse take a bath too. She thought that was really funny!
Teenagers have fun at the fair too. Nathan has already been to the fair once, but didn’t mind hanging out with us there today. They like walking around with their friends, and they all love the lemon shakes and fair fries!
After eating enough fair food to last us til next year, we headed home.
The Canfield Fair is a worthy tradition – one we will continue with our children and grandchildren.
