Don received his draft spot for the FFPC Football Guys Players Championship a few days ago, and was bummed to find out he has the fourth pick.
A couple months ago, everyone wanted to have one of the top four picks, but now it is the pick no one wants. There were four main Running Backs going to the top picks and all four were top notch: Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara and Ezekiel Elliott.
Now things have changed. Zeke is holding out, and hasn’t reported to training camp. It is a huge drama with Zeke going back and forth to Mexico, Jerry Jones responding, “Zeke who?” to a reporter’s question, and nobody really knowing if and when he will show up.
The question at this point is who is best for the fourth pick. The top choices are David Johnson, Nick Chubb, Le’Veon Bell, DeAndre Hopkins and Davante Adams. This was brought up on numerous shows today including Football Diehards. Guest, KC Joyner, advises taking Zeke, feeling that the Cowboys will sign an extension for their prized Running Back.
Don says if Elliott isn’t signed by draft time, he will pick someone else. He has some hard feelings about this type of situation because last year he took Le’Veon Bell in the exact same league and ended up with a big fat nothing when Bell decided to hold out the entire season and not report to the Steelers. Bell even put out a statement recently on twitter regarding last year’s bust, “this is loooong overdue!! but I want to take a moment to apologize to all the fantasy owners who picked me last year. I’m sorry I couldn’t pull through for y’all ….but trust me, this year’s about to be wayyyy different, I’m bringing the (trophies) this year.”
We can’t say if Le’Veon Bell will put up a different performance this year, but we won’t be duped again. Hopefully the Cowboys’ settle their issues and Zeke is back on track by draft day.
