There are so many ways to draft for fantasy football – what is your favorite way?
We are sure most of you would say an in person draft. Who doesn’t like to be in a room with a bunch of fantasy footballers, watching expressions, razzing them about their picks and enjoying the exciting atmosphere.
Don’s Hometown League used to draft out of the commissioner’s garage, but now they reserve a room at a local bar. This year will be even a little different with some teams drafting from home due to the pandemic.
A couple years ago, Don had the privilege to draft in Vegas for the FFPC Main Event. What a production that is! Although it was an amazing experience, he says his favorite drafts are with his Hometown guys.
We both have online leagues, slow draft and live. The slow drafts are more relaxed and work around people’s schedules, sometimes taking days to complete. Each team has a certain amount of time to make their pick and can also make pre-draft selections in case your schedule doesn’t allow for drafting on time. The live drafts are a little more exciting and move along quickly.
This year Don will be doing his first Zoom draft with the Fantasy Sports Radio Decade Ring of Honor winners, and the experts John Hansen and Michael Fabiano. Side note about Fabiano: I was the only person he asked a question to at the HOF Fantasy Football Experience. He asked me who was more handsome – Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo. I had to answer Brady, even though it’s a close tie.
Covid19 has put a damper on most in person drafts. We wish all of you fun times while remaining safe and healthy. Good luck!
