If Don had lost in his Hometown Trophy League, the title of this post would be Playoff Result. Period. But, he won! I am very glad to be able to report his triumph, because Sunday was one of the most nerve-racking days ever in our household.
Don and Joe went back and forth for hours in an Epic Playoff Battle. Joe is the newby in the group, and he had an amazing first year. Don won by only nine points in the last couple minutes of the game. Joe was probably already thinking about that massive trophy taking residence in his home.
Joe had six players in the second game, and Don had three. At some point during the first game, Don said he really wanted to go into the second game with a 40-point lead, and that was exactly the lead he had. It didn’t take Joe long to catch up with him, and then he took the lead. Don must have run every possible point-scoring-scenario through our living room, and did an awesome job coaching his players from our comfy cozy loveseat.
Now, the huge four-foot tall trophy is one game away from its place of glory in our living room. Having learned my lesson about the Fantasy Football gods from Mike Dempsey of the Football Diehards, I will not say anything else about that!
I’m just glad that Don is playing in the Super Bowl because that will make watching the Patriots take on the Rams much more exciting!
