With less than a month until the 2023 Fantasy Football Expo in Canton, Ohio we are feeling like a couple kids before Christmas! We have written about this before, but we love to reminisce about our Canton Fantasy Football journey.
Seven years ago, Bob Lung, The King of Consistency, organized a fantastic two-day Fantasy Football event held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Complete with three Hall of Famers and a panel of experts, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The back story is that we were going through a rough patch in our marriage. We were drifting apart and we spent most of the time doing our own things. Don did not particularly want to attend the event alone, and I did not exactly want to go. We made a deal that I would attend if he bought a Coach purse for me. We went out purse shopping and I proudly carried that new bag to the event!
It was surreal being in a room with Warren Moon, Chris Doleman and Anthony Munoz. To make it even more spectacular, the panel of experts included Michael Fabiano, John Hansen, Jeff Ratcliffe, Mike Clay, Bob Lung and David Dodds. Wow!
It didn’t take long until I felt a little bad about the Coach purse bargain. We had a blast!
On the way home, I proposed another idea. Don loves Fantasy Football and I love to write. I had wanted to start a blog for a long time, and thought it might be fun to write about Fantasy Football and our life. AFantasyFootballCouple.com was born and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward to 2023 and Bob Lung continues to design an amazing weekend centered around Fantasy Football. It is the biggest event in the Fantasy Football community and is also the most fan-friendly. Status does not matter at The Fantasy Football Expo and everyone is welcome.
The icing on the cake is that the Expo falls on our anniversary week so we always have something fun to look forward to as we celebrate another year of being married. It seems appropriate that we return to Canton each year, since that first Fantasy Football weekend saved our marriage. (Thanks, Bob!)
