The longest gap in our NFL season blogging took place during the holiday weeks. Christmas and New Year’s celebrations in addition to a long overdue trip to Arkansas took precedence over recapping our Fantasy Football goings-on.
We left off with Don being out of all his Leagues except for his Hometown Trophy League, the Browns were down to only two more possibilities for wins, and our Little Tree that Could was looking a bit bare, with only six ornaments to celebrate Cleveland victories.
Don won Week Sixteen and lost Week Seventeen in the Hometown League. He made it into the playoffs, tying another team for the last spot. It went head-to-head and since Don had beat Pete earlier in the season, Don continued on to the playoffs.
Most people who do Fantasy Football know this is a different playoff format. Most Leagues are over by now, but for 31 years the Hometown League playoffs have always coincided with the NFL.
Just when everyone thought the Browns could not look any worse, they took an internal nosedive firing their Head Coach and General Manager. The final two losses of the season did everyone in, including the most diehard of all diehard fans.
On the other hand, we have had a blast watching the Minnesota Vikings, and more specifically Ifeadi Odenigbo, their super fierce Defensive End. We will always be Cleveland fans, but it is so much fun to watch a team that has their act together!
We both wish everyone a Happy New Year full of joy, happiness and plenty of Fantasy Football luck.
