Week Eight had its up and downs, but overall it was a success. Being diehard Browns fans helps us be prepared for some of those downs – at least one good thing about having your team lose almost all the time.
Don won his Hometown Trophy League game 103-63. He is 5-3 and is tied for first in his division. He still leads the league in total points, and I am starting to wonder if we might have that huge trophy in our living room again.
His game in the FFPC Main Event League did not turn out as well. Don lost 141-119, and is pretty bummed about his low score. His overall rank has dropped to 1024. It isn’t fun to lose, especially in a high stakes league. Mathematically speaking, it would be almost impossible to turn this around. Stranger things have happened, and the fat lady didn’t sing…yet.
We survived another week in Bob Lung’s Fantasy Cares Eliminator Best Ball League. This league is so much more fun that I expected it to be! It lacks the weekly prep work and as long as we don’t have the lowest score, we are still in the game.
Speaking of surviving – I am heading into Week Nine in the 5 Rings Survivor Pool! It seemed like an easy week for me since I still had New England, but they played on Monday Night in Buffalo, so I was a little nervous. Don didn’t help the situation at all when he said it should be a good pick, unless Brady broke a leg. What! Who says stuff like that! Brady’s legs stayed in one piece and the Patriots didn’t have any trouble at all winning against the Bills.
In the Football Diehards Listeners League, A Fantasy Football Couple beat YOBOGOYA! (Brad Watson) 143-128. Deshaun Watson started the week off right on Thursday night against Miami, giving me a whopping 31 points. Thank goodness he did, because Cleveland’s Njoku didn’t produce at all. Zero. Unless there is an injury, it is always beyond me how a player can come up with nothing! We are excited to play against Mike Dempsey of the Football Diehards in Week Nine! Dempsey is tied for first, but I have a lot of faith in my team (thanks to Mr. K).
