Week One is in the books and for one of us it was very successful, and for the other it tanked.
Starting off with the tanking – I went down in both Survivor Pools due to not following my own rules! I chose the Browns in both, looking at the future, and thinking if they were going to only win one game this year, Week One would be a for sure deal. Nobody saw it coming, except Tennessee, who took advantage of all the hype and knocked Cleveland off their high horse. America’s team took a beating, and so did my Survivor Pools and my lineup, which was way too Browns heavy.
Don won all three of his leagues. He won his Hometown Trophy League 77-57. He lost his number one pick in that league – Tyreek Hill – for a few weeks due to a shoulder injury. Tough luck for Tyreek. We hate injuries.
He won both of his FFPC Football Guys Championship Leagues. His team with Tyreek Hill won 165-115, despite losing him in the first quarter. His other team won 159-123.
Not too shabby for the first week, as far as Don’s teams. He also won both of his Survivor Pools, having wisely taken Philadelphia and Seattle.
Our son-in-law also survived Week One with his pick of Philadelphia. Bobby won the Survivor Pool year before last – his first year to ever play an eliminator pool!
