Week Six was an awesome week for all of our teams and my survivor pool! When they say you can’t win ’em all, they weren’t referring to A Fantasy Football Couple this past week.
Some of our wins were by a mile and were determined early while others came down to the wire.
The 5 Rings Survivor Pool didn’t lose any participants this week, so we are still nine strong. Five of us picked Minnesota, who easily tromped Arizona. MisterYoungstown, the Pool Commish, chose Houston and had to be close to heart failure when the game was tied close to the end. The remaining three took the Packers, and kept their Survivorship with Monday Night Football.
Don won his FFPC Main Event League game by a whopping 0.1 points. The final score was 147.85-147.75. He was losing by 17 points going into Sunday Night Football, but Julian Edelman and Tyreek Hill combined to have four touchdowns putting Don way ahead. Don’s opponent had George Kittle playing in the Monday Night Football game and needed him for 9.2, but George only gave him 9.0. We are still on pins and needles because we have seen the NFL make stat corrections through the week. Any little stat correction to this game could take Don from a win to a loss. Now, Don is up 4-2 and ranked 893 overall.
Don’s Hometown League score was a blowout. He beat Darris 97-57 and is 3-3; one game out of first. There is one undefeated team left in the Huge Trophy League and Don will play him this week. You’re going down, John!
We also had a great week in Bob Lung’s Fantasy Cares Eliminator Best Ball League! We had the second highest score. I know, I know, I know. Score means nothing as long as we are not the lowest. However, I love seeing us near the top!
We also had a huge win in the Football Diehards Listeners League. A Fantasy Football Couple beat Bennett Karoll’s I Hope the Bears Are Ok 167.1-105. Only one team outscored us and that was Mike Dempsey, as in Mike Dempsey of the Football Diehards! Looking ahead, AFFC goes up against Bob Harris this week. As in Bob Harris of the Football Diehards! You’re going down, Bob!
Winning is a lot more fun than losing, but realistically there are not very many weeks like this one. Luck combined with knowledge combined with more luck made us come out on top in all of our contests. We can’t get too comfortable though because we have to prepare to take on Bob Harris this week!
