Bummersville. The 5 Rings Survivor Pool went from 25 participants to 3. Just like that.
Bobby and Don are no longer Survivors. They were both eliminated this week – what are the chances? Don took Indianapolis and Bobby took New Orleans. Both great picks, according to Vegas. Early Sunday morning, Don heard that Matthew Stafford, Detroit’s Quarterback, wasn’t playing. He started to change his pick to Chicago, who was playing Detroit, but didn’t want to switch and then have to live with regret if the Bears lost. He is still kicking himself. Bobby was equally upset – it is easy to think of it as losing the total pot, when really it is only the loss of the entry fee. At least they weren’t eliminated Week One with a stupid Browns pick!
Don lost his Hometown Trophy League game 110-78. Cooper Kupp gave him a big fat zero. Latavius Murray gave him 1.9 points. It is almost impossible to make that up. Even with those two disappointments, he is tied for first in his division and leads the League in total points.
Don won both of his FFPC Leagues. The first one he won 191-132 – WOW! That was with David Johnson giving him 2.0 points. If Johnson had performed decently, he would have broken 200. That evens his record at 5-5. There is only one more week of the FFPC regular season, so in order to make the playoffs in this League, he will have to make up 40 points over the team ahead of him in total points.
The other FFPC League win was 143-104. He is now 4–6, but lost the total points lead in the League and is down by 14 points. As long as he doesn’t have a terrible week next week, he will be in the playoffs! He will have to make up the 14 points, which will put him in a decent position as far as future playoff possibilities.
The Browns won! We will be adding another ornament, and those pictures will be coming soon. It is a good thing they won, because we were just about at our limit of frustration with them.
