We are huge fans of Chick-Fil-A. We’ve assumed for years that their chicken sandwich is the best, but after someone told us that Popeye’s is way better, we decided to write a chicken sandwich review.
We have been on a mission to try several chicken sandwiches over the course of a few months, and to try to knock Chick-Fil-A out of first place.
Hardee’s in Iowa City, Iowa took us by surprise and came close to being the best. Their hand-breaded chicken sandwich served up by some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met was a real treat.
Our Iowa road trip took us through Highland, Indiana where we stopped at Culver’s. Burgers and cheese curds are the best things to eat at Culver’s, but the chicken sandwich was pretty tasty, too.
On a recent trip to Arkansas, we made a few stops at Sonic. Can you beat their Cherry Limeade and onion rings? We think not. Their chicken sandwich, while super yummy, can’t quite beat Chick-Fil-A in our opinion.
A cold day last winter took us to Buffalo Wild Wings where we had a feast of wings and fries. Don decided to try their chicken sandwich, and it was the most photogenic of all. To be honest, if our review was based on looks, BWW’s would be the winner winner chicken dinner!
The sandwich that started the whole review – Popeye’s – is the only one that didn’t make it to a photoshoot. Did it get eaten too quickly? That’s our best guess. The classic and spicy versions are equally good, and their blackened ranch sauce is the bomb diggity.
The overall best chicken sandwich is Chick-Fil-A. The chicken is tasty even without any fancy toppings. Add a side of fries, please!
Even though Chick-Fil-A is still our favorite, we thoroughly enjoyed our delicious mission!
